All contestant should have recieved an email by now explaining the basics.

A few clarifications for some of us: Da Challunge begins today, I placed this in our upcoming events, but this is only to point out the start, if you want to play your battles on another day, feel free to do so.The first part will go on till 22 March, the second part of the challenge will be posted around that time for our next preparations.

I also want to thank all participants, having 10 people joining me in this is a great feeling and proves that there realy is a community of 40k’ers ready to take on a challenge.

StormBoyz club is looking for:

Fellow bloggers: Do you want to help out posting news or organizing events, you’re good with words (you’re a better writer than the average ork) and feel like doing frequent updates to our little blog.

Club leading staff: Since I don’t intend to do a one-man-show here for this club I’ll need motivated people by my side, people with good ideas and organisation skills to help out running club events and help out to run things. Feel like you have some creative ideas and leading capabilities?

Even more members!: Offcourse we need more members! Theres always room for more!

Op 21 & 22 Februari 2009 organiseert The Black Dragons de Grand Fanatic in de Halle toren Brugge. Dit groots, jaarlijks evenement is een Warhammer Fantasy, 40K & Lord of the Rings toernooi. Dit jaar hebben we echter jullie steun nodig. Om ervoor te zorgen dat er hier in België een Grand Tournament komt, moet de Grand Fanatic geslaagd zijn. Voor een groot deel hebben we dit zelf in de handen, maar ook jullie kunnen je droom van een GT in België zien uitkomen. Het enige wat jullie hoeven te doen is meedoen. Dus hiermee roepen we iedereen die wilt meespelen om zich in te schrijven. Hoe meer spelers, hoe beter. Als speciale gast komt zelfs een ware legende om mee te spelen met het 40K gedeelte: Alessio Cavatore. Reden te meer dus om te komen! Dus, als conclusie, wens je naar een onvergetelijk, uniek en onvoorstelbaar wonderbaarlijk toernooi met MEGA-prijzen, schrijf je dan zo vlug mogelijk in via tornooi@theblackdragons.be

Well dis is it Boyz, we’ze off to start da challunge, so take out yer big choppaz en prepare for battle!

An if you punny umiez can’t read orkish, it da read more button!Well, this is the official kick-off to ‘Da Challunge’ people.

The preparation:

The first thing you need to do is subscribe to the challenge. It is important for us to have a list of people playing and the armies they are fielding. Not only for reference but also to keep scores.
How do you subscribe? Well all you need to do is send me an email and include the following information:
- Real Name
- Age
- Location
- Army of choice for the challenge (pleas remember that this will be the army you will play for all the steps in the challenge, you will not be able to switch once you started)
- newly started army or existing army (please be honest about this one)
- Favorite days to play (this helps us to organize battles on your favored schedule)
- Contact information (msn, forum name on the Mishra’s forum, phone, email, etc…)

The battles:

We will officially start with 500pt armies. And we’ll aim for two battles a person.
Starting February 22nd I will send out a list of people joining the challenge including contact information.
We expect you to contact each other (through mail, msn, the forum, by phone, etc…) and play out at least two different people during the first period of the challenge.
Armies played must be conform to the standard 5th edition rules from Games Workshop.
Armies need not to have at least one painted HQ and one painted Troop choice  (3 color minimum rule), else you lose one point during this stage.
When you come ot a battle bring at least two identical army sheets with you, army list need to be written or made digitally. Remember your opponent needs to be able to read this, so if you have the handwriting of a doctor on crack, consider making it on your computer.

Scores will be as follows:
- Win: 5pts
- Draw: 3pts
- Loss: 2 pts

You can gain extra points during pt-1 of the challenge:
- 1 extra point if you subscribe to the challenge before February 3rd (this includes subscription on the introduction day @ Mishra’s on February 4th)

You can also loose points during this stage:
- Not showing up at a battle (not letting know your opponent): -1 point
- Minimum amount of models not painted (1 HQ and one Troop choide): -1 point
- Army list unreadable or no 2nd copy made: -1 point

Who can join? Everyone is welcome, this event is open to all.

What do you need to join? If you do own a 40K army we’re asking you to bring a 500 pt strong force, painted or unpainted, it doesn’t mather.
Bring (a minimum of) 2 copy’s of your army list along (5 copy’s are advised). Also bring your army book and a lot of dice.
Post a comment to this post so we know how much space to prepare for 40k intro’s.

Ready to punch in?

Want to start out in a huge campaign, start out with a fresh army and work your way up to 1850 points over the course of many months, together with a group of enthusiastic 40K’ers?

Het concept
Het opzet van ‘Da Challunge! (uitspreken met een Ork-lip) is simpel. Je stapt samen met een aantal andere spelers in deze opdracht die zich over vele maanden zal afspelen.
Alles verloopt in grote fases waar iedereen aan kan deelnemen. Kleinschalig beginnen om immens groot te eindigen is hier de boodschap. Even een kort overzicht van de fases:

- Fase 1: Da Challunge! begint: In deze eerste periode is de opdracht om een 500 punten leger 40k te verzamelen en in mekaar te steken. Alle deelnemers nemen dit kleine leger dan mee om een voorafbepaald aantal battles mee te doen.
Iedereen verdient hiermee punten en komt op een scorebord terecht. Er worden ook extra punten gegeven aan volledig geschilderde legers. Op het eind van fase 1 wordt dan ook een algemene winnaar gekozen die zicht gedurende een tijdje ultieme 40k koning mag noemen en de andere deelnemers als pleps mag aanzien. Heb je al een 40k leger en geen budget om een nieuw leger te starten dan ben je uiteraard ook welkom om deel te nemen maar hou wel in gedacht dat je geen extra punten krijgt voor het op tijd bouwen van je leger of het schilderen ervan.

- Fase 2: Iedereen gaat over tot 1000 punten legers (je krijgt hier natuurlijk ook voldoende tijd voor) en er worden weer een aantal battles gespeeld (waaronder de eerste 2v2 battles). Weeral kunnen punten verdiend worden.

- Fase 3: 1500 punten

- Fase 4: aflsuiter van ‘Da Challunge!’ waar iedereen zal deelnemen in een alles-beslissende Apocalipse battle, en de ultieme winnaar bekend zal worden.

Tijdens de fases zullen ook special events ingepland worden zoals bvb een painting contest (om extra punten te verdienen), of een heuse 40k quiz…The sky is the limit.

Ikzelf neem als taak om alles logistiek uit te werken, dit wil zeggen, het opstellen van de challenges, het opstellen van een blog waar alles te vinden zal zijn over het verloop, enz…

Nu is de vraag, zijn er geïntreseerden om hier aan deel te nemen?

Bij deze dan ook mijn officiele oproep om zoveel mogelijk mensen te overtuigen om deel te nemen, zelfs al ben je een fantasy player, dit is de uitgesproken kans om in 40k te stappen en op gelijke voet met anderen vorderingen te boeken. Je bent zeker van tegenstanders en je zal kunnen deelnemen aan een zeer leuke campaign.

Painting Saturday @ Mishra’s

Who can join?: Everyone able to hold a pencil
What do you need?: Brushes, paints, two cups or containers able to hold water, cleaning tissue, unpainted models, basically the whole enchilada for painting

Welcome to the StormBoyz Blog, the StormBoyz are a newly found 40K club from Halle. We decided to get a bit more organised and help promote the hobby. Thus StormBoyz was formed, why the name? Well, since the club was founded during Januwaaaaaaghry we needed to get an Orky name, and StormBoyz it is! The gaming club does accept members so if you feel like joining, feel free to contact myself or other members for a basic explanation of the club and a quick overview of the rules.

The blog itself will be a helpful tool to keep everyone informed about activities @ Mishra’s Playground and club related events and updates from our ongoing campaign (The Challunge!). We’ll post pictures from recent activities and our armies.
